Removing an intimate image of you
Last updated October 2, 2026
Report intimate images or videos of you shared on Nimzy without your consent to PlainSpan LLC. Federal law requires removal as soon as possible, no later than 48 hours after a valid request is received.
You do not need an account. You can report for someone you are authorised to act for.
This process also covers digitally created or altered intimate images of you. You do not have to find or report duplicate copies yourself.
How to report
Email safety@plainspan.com with TAKE IT DOWN in the subject line.
Do not attach the image. Describe it and say where it appears, with an account name, link or other information that helps locate it.
What to put in the message
Four things. Write them however you like. None of this needs a lawyer, and nothing here has to be phrased in any particular way.
- Your signature
- Type your full name at the end of the message. A typed name in an email is an electronic signature and it is enough.
- What the image or video is, and where it is
- Enough for one person to find it without guessing. A link if you have one. Otherwise the account name, the screen you saw it on, and roughly when.
- That it is you, and that you did not agree to it being here
- One sentence in your own words. Something like: this is a picture of me and I did not consent to it being published. If you are writing for someone else, say who you are to them and that you are authorised to act for them.
- A way to reach you
- An email address or another way to contact you about the request.
The removal deadline
PlainSpan LLC must remove the reported content as soon as possible, no later than 48 hours after receiving a valid request. The TAKE IT DOWN Act sets the same deadline for reasonable efforts to identify and remove known identical copies on Nimzy.
Reporting here does not prevent you from contacting law enforcement or using the services below.
If it is on other services too
These services are run by other organisations. Follow the instructions for the service that applies to the image.
- Take It Down, from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, for images of a person who was under 18 at the time.
- StopNCII.org for images of an adult.
- The CyberTipline if the person in the image is under 18. Reports about a minor should go there as well as here.
